Follow The Directions

01

Step
2 mins

In a medium saucepan, combine the prepared strawberries, fresh orange juice, sugar, and orange zest. (2 minutes)

02

Step
5 mins

Place the saucepan over medium heat, stirring to combine the ingredients. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil. (5 minutes)

03

Step
10 mins

Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and let the jam simmer, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking, for approximately 10 minutes.

04

Step
1 mins

Incorporate the chia seeds into the simmering jam, stirring continuously to ensure even distribution. (1 minute)

05

Step
5 mins

Continue to simmer for an additional 5 minutes, or until the jam begins to thicken to your desired consistency. For a smoother texture, use a potato masher to gently break up any large pieces of fruit.

06

Step
30 mins

Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the jam to cool completely. The jam will continue to thicken as it cools. (30 minutes)

07

Step

Transfer the cooled jam to an airtight jar or container and store it in the refrigerator for up to one week. You can also freeze it for longer storage.

For a richer flavor, try using honey or maple syrup instead of white sugar.
Adjust the amount of sugar to your liking, depending on the sweetness of the strawberries.
If you prefer a completely smooth jam, blend the mixture with an immersion blender after simmering and before adding the chia seeds. But be aware that the jam will become more liquid when blended.
Make sure to use a clean jar when storing your finished jam.
